LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch to welcome Austin-based Torchy’s Tacos as new tenant

Houston (February 25, 2014) – Torchy’s Tacos, the home-based Texas taco shop has signed a 3,886-square-foot lease with Vista Equities Group for a new restaurant at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.

Torchy’s Tacos is known for their tasty and unique tacos with names including; The Wrangler (scrambled eggs, potatoes, beef brisket, and cheese), Mr. Orange (blackened salmon with corn and black bean relish, cheese, and cilantro) and Mr. Pink (Ahi tuna with cabbage fresca, cilantro, and lime) to name a few. Torchy’s Tacos will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, although their menu will be available all day. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch marks the fourth location in the Greater Houston Area for Torchy’s Tacos.

“Our success in Houston- proper paired with the vision for LaCenterra made the decision for Katy a pretty easy one. We couldn’t be more excited to join so many other great brands in Cinco Ranch,” said Michael Rypka, Torchy’s Tacos Founder and VP of Culinary and Marketing.

Torchy’s Tacos will be centrally located by the West Lake of LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch off the entrance of Commercial Center Blvd. It is expected to open in the Summer of 2014. The lease was secured by Donna Keith of Vista Equities Group. Torchy’s Tacos was represented by Jamie Weaver with Baker Katz.

About Torchy’s Tacos

Torchy’s Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food. Seven years ago, Mike Rypka left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy’s Tacos. With a new, experimental menu ready to serve but no mouths to feed, Rypka jumped on his Vespa and started throwing out samples in an attempt to draw customers to his trailer. Before he knew it, people were rallying beside the taco stand hollering, “damn these tacos are good!” and the Torchy’s Tacos’ legacy began. Today, Torchy’s Tacos operates 21 locations throughout Texas.
