Groundbreaking at University Commons Shopping Center

Vista Sugarland Commons, Ltd., a real estate investment partnership formed by the Vista Companies, has broken ground on Phase I of University Commons Shopping Center. The 150,000 square foot retail development, which is located at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 59 and University Boulevard, in Sugar Land, Texas, is anchored by a Burlington Coat Factory, a Michael’s, an Amegy Bank and a CVS Pharmacy, and will also include a 1000 Degree Pizza and a Mama Fu’s, amongst other shops and restaurants.

University Commons will serve as an excellent addition to the community by increasing the shopping and restaurant choices to the substantial residential neighborhoods on either side of U.S. Hwy 59, to the students of University of Houston at Sugar Land, to the employees of Texas Instruments and the visitors to the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences.

Scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2017, University Commons is being financed via a construction loan with Frost Bank, with Arch-Con as the general contractor.  Upon completion, the property will be managed by Vista Management Company.
