The Vista Companies Break Ground on New Retail Development

HOUSTON (September 29, 2014) – An investment partnership sponsored by The Vista Companies has broken ground on a new 10,000 sq. ft. retail development in west Houston.

Located at Memorial Drive and Dairy Ashford Road, the property was acquired by Vista in 2012 and housed a fifty year old shopping center at the time of acquisition.

The last existing lease expired in July, 2014, and at that time, the existing shopping center was demolished – to be replaced with a new 10,000 sq. ft. retail development to be known as The Plazas at Memorial Drive.

At the time construction began, the Plazas at Memorial Drive was 85% leased to a variety of tenants including MOD Pizza, Vert’s Restaurant, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Smoothie King.

Construction financing for the new development is being provided by Frost Bank. The project was designed by Marc Boucher of Boucher Design Group and Beck-Ford Contractors is acting as the general contractor.

Completion of the project is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015.
